AFTERCARE FOR PERMANENT MAKE UP

 

 

IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT

  • The area of tattoo may feel a bit tender, swollen and bruised along with some redness this will only last between 1 – 2 days.

  • 2nd Day the colour of the tattoo will start to appear harsh and darker as scabs begin to form.

  • The scabs will start to fall of between 3 -10 days depending on your skin type and the treatment carried out.

  • Do not pick, scratch or bite of any scabs as this will jeopardize the healing of the tattoo and remove the pigment.

  • Do not get any facials, botox, chemical treatments, microdermabrasion for 4 weeks past your appointment date.

  • Please avoid any gym or exercise for 10 days as sweating can remove the pigment and ruin your tattoo.

  • Do not expose your tattoo to any UV rays or tanning beds for 4 weeks after your treatment as this can drastically change the appearance of your tattoo.

THE DAY OF TREATMENT – EYEBROWS AND EYELINER

  • Fluids will leak from the tattooed area. You do not want this fluid to sit on your tattoo and form scabs.

  • Every hour you will need to lightly wipe the area of tattoo with a damp cotton pad to remove and build up of fluid, pat dry the area to ensure all fluid is removed, apply a very thin/sheer layer of the aftercare cream (you have been given in your aftercare pack) with a cotton bud. Do not use your hands at any point to touch the brow area as this is an open wound and may cause an infection.

  • If the area is swollen and tender, you may apply some ice to the area if needed but please ensure that it is wrapped up in a zip lock bag or paper towel. Do not apply ice direct to the wound at any point.

  • Do not get the brows wet at all for 10 days.

  • Please avoid swimming, showers, hot steamy baths for 10 days.

  • When washing your face please wash around the brows and be very careful not to get them wet.

  • Please avoid any gym/ exercise or sweating for 10 days as this will cause scabs to fall of prematurely and ruin the tattoo.

  • Please avoid all cosmetic products, cleansers, moisturisers and make up on the brow areas for 10 days as this can ruin the tattoo.

 

DAY 2 AND 3

  • Continue to lightly wipe the tattoo with a damp cotton pad, pat dry followed by after care cream in the morning, noon and at bed time.

  • Please remember this cream must be applied very thin/sheer with a cotton bud any excess then please bend the cotton bud in half and scrap of any excess off after care cream.

  • If you have very oily skin, then do not apply any after cream at all.

DAY 4-10

  • Continue to apply a very sheer layer of the after cream provided at bedtime only.

  • If you have very oily skin, then do not apply any after care cream.

  • Small scabs and dry skin may be forming if they do please do not get them wet, scratch or pick them off prematurely. These scabs must fall off naturally and be kept on as long as possible to protect the pigment.

  • Try to avoid sleeping on your face as this can cause scabs to come off prematurely, also ensure you are sleeping on a clean pillow case to avoid any infection.

After the Day 10 you will be allowed to get the tattoo wet providing all the scabs have fallen off naturally. If there are still some scabs on the tattooed area, then please wait until they have naturally fallen off.

 

THE DAY OF TREATMENT FOR LIPS

 

  • Fluids will leak from your lips. You do not want this fluid to sit on your tattoo and form scabs.

  • Every hour you will need to lightly wipe the area of tattoo with a damp cotton pad to remove the fluid and pat dry the area to ensure all fluid is removed.

  • After you have wiped the area down you will need to moisturise the lips. Do not use your hands at any point to touch the lips as this is an open wound and may cause an infection.

  • If the area is swollen and tender, you may apply some ice to the area if needed but please ensure that it is wrapped up in a zip lock bag or paper towel. Do not apply ice direct to the wound.

  • Apply aftercare balm when cleaning your teeth to protect the tattoo from the fluoride.

  • Apply aftercare balm when eating and drinking at all times to protect your tattoo and try to drink from a straw as much as possible to protect you’re tattoo.

Please do not apply any lipstick or cosmetic products to your lips for 10 days until the tattoo has healed only used the aftercare balm provided.

 

Please avoid all cosmetic products, cleansers, moisturisers and make up on the area for 10 days as this can ruin the tattoo.

 

Day 2 – 10

  • Do not touch the area with dirty hands as it is an open wound and may cause infection.

  • Do not get your tattoo wet as this will make the scabs soggy and cause them to fall off prematurely, scabs need to be left on as long as possible for the best healing results.

  • Do not pick, scratch, or bite the scabs of your lips as this will cause the scabs to fall off prematurely and remove the pigment which will ruin the tattoo.

  • You may apply after care balm as often as you like to keep them moisturised.

  • Do not let the tattoo get dry or cracked, keep them moist with aftercare balm.

  • Colour may disappear but please do not worry this is part of the healing process the colour will come back when fully healed.

 

 

AFTER SCABBING PHASE

  • After 10 days and the scabs have fallen off you may apply make up over the area and return back to your normal skin care/make up routine.

  • When your scabs fall off, they may have a milky/grey hue to them this means that the surface skin is healed but underneath layers still need time to heal which is between 4/6 weeks until fully healed and the true and final colour comes through.

  • Touch ups can not be done before the healing period is complete must be carried out after 4 weeks for brows and 6 weeks for Lips and Eyeliner.

  • Once fully healed your tattoo will appear softer and not as crisp.

  • End results will vary on each individual and extremely dependant on your skin type and how you care for your tattoo over the healing period, due to these factors I cannot guarantee the outcome and results of your tattoo as every person is different.

  • Please note it may take up to 3 sessions to achieve your more desired result.

 

ONCE FULLY HEALED

  • It is strongly recommended that you do not use any of the following on your tattoo: Benzoyl Peroxide, Hydrogen, Peroxide, Glycolic Acid, Apple Cider vinegar, Vitamin E and C and retinol. These products can lighten and fade your tattoo extremely fast therefore very important that you check all the ingredients in any of your cosmetic products.

       you may be using.

 

  • You must always use a minimum of SF30 on your tattoo as UV rays will deteriorate the pigment lighten and fade the tattoo extremely fast.

  • Tanning beds will also fade and lighten the tattoo faster as well so if you can avoid any tanning beds please do.

  • Salt water and chlorine can also deteriorate the tattoo at a faster rate. Try to rinse with water after contact.

  • If you are having any laser or facial beauty treatments, then please inform your technician that you have permanent make up before any procedures are carried out.

  • The treatment does fade 1-3 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and self-care of the tattoo especially if you work or spend a lot of times outdoors.

  • Re touches are necessary to maintain the longevity of the tattoo and maintain it keeping it fresh

  • If you have oily skin, iron deficiency your pigment will not last as long and will be softer healing results.

  • Cover up appointments may need additional appointments on top to get better results. Please note that cover up work may not always completely cover up the old tattoo.
